Dr. Jack Schaap

Dr. Jack Schaap has been the pastor of First Baptist Church since 2001. He served as a teacher and administrator at Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana, for over twenty years before accepting the pastorate of the First Baptist Church.

Originally from Holland, Michigan, Dr. Schaap met his wife, Cindy, while attending Hyles-Anderson College. Mrs. Schaap was born in Hammond, and she has attended First Baptist Church her entire life. Her father, Dr. Jack Hyles, served as the pastor of First Baptist Church for forty-one years.

Dr. and Mrs. Schaap have two children, Jaclynn and Kenny. Jaclynn is the wife of our junior high youth pastor, Brother Todd Weber. Kenny currently teaches at Hammond Baptist Junior High School and serves in the Responsibility USA ministry of the church.
